Ogunquit Hertiage Museum At The Winn House
86 Obed's Lane Ogunquit 03907 Phone : 207-646-0296 The Ogunquit Heritage Museum opened in 2001. The opportunity for an Ogunquit Museum was created by the donation of the Captain James Winn House, a ca. 1780 Maine cape, by Phyllis Perkins, who gave it to the town for preservation. The house was on the National Register of Historic Places as an example of Maine architecture. Moved with funds donated by the Ogunquit Rotary, to Jacobs Field. An enthusiastic committee was formed. Hard times and circumstances prevented the completion of their vision to open a museum. Our mission is to present educational exhibits and programs that inform and help us remember the heritage of Ogunquit of fishing, farming, ship building, and sea captains, forward to a world renowned art colony and summer theater. Today our village is a busy tourist destination. Through the years, artists, authors, and company presidents came to partake in its beauty and inspiration.
